The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Visits Huisman Czech Republic and Symbolically Presents the “Baby Bell” as a Reminder of the Bell of Freedom Project
Sviadnov, October 15, 2025 – Huisman Czech Republic welcomed Mina Noor, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Czech Republic, to its plant in Sviadnov. During her visit, the delegation toured various production facilities and discussed opportunities for further cooperation with the company’s management. A key highlight of the programme was the presentation of the so-called Baby Bell, a miniature of the Bell of Freedom, which Huisman Czech Republic has supported.
The Bell of Freedom was unveiled in Prague in June in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, as a symbol of peace and solidarity. To commemorate this project, two smaller bells have been created. The first was presented to Karel Pavlíček, Managing Director of Huisman Czech Republic, while the second will be destined for Huisman’s parent company in the Netherlands. The Bell of Freedom project is an initiative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Czech Republic in cooperation with the association Sanctus Castulus and the Embassy of Ukraine with support of the Dutch business based in Czechia
“It was an honour to welcome the Ambassador to our plant. Receiving the Baby Bell is a symbolic moment for us and a reminder of the values represented by the Bell of Freedom project. At the same time, we were able to showcase our production and open a dialogue on education, industry, and opportunities for cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands,” said Karel Pavlíček, Managing Director of Huisman Czech Republic.
The Ambassador showed a keen interest in the practical aspects of production, viewed demonstrations of robotic welding, and visited the assembly hall. In discussions with the company’s management, topics included building stronger links between companies and schools, opportunities for student internships, cooperation among regional businesses, and the sharing of experience between Czech and Dutch firms.
Together, we discussed how school curricula, particularly vocational training, can be adapted to meet the needs of industry, as well as about opportunities for student exchanges. I see great potential for joint initiatives that could be of interest to companies in the Moravian-Silesian Region and for connecting local businesses with similarly focused companies in the Netherlands. Huisman is great example of how a business can strengthen European ties and take responsibility by supporting the message of peace,” said Mina Noor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Czech Republic.
At the end of the visit, the guests from the Dutch Embassy received a symbolic gift – a miniature 3D-printed hook, manufactured at Huisman’s Sviadnov facility. Huisman Czech Republic made history in 2019 as the first company in the world to deliver certified 3D-printed hooks for offshore cranes.
